Hello All.

Heathrow is now back to pre-pandemic customer numbers and the businest airport in Europe now sees around 1,300 planes take off and land each and every day. Yet despite the airport being established in 1944 and a third runway proposal (first being floated in 1946) it still rumbles on.

So much for the Brits “can do” attitude?

This month the airport has been given the go ahead to press on with its third runway expansion plan as part of the Labour government’s drive to boost economic growth.

Villages and towns next to Heathrow will be impacted by noise and air pollution. Some 700 homes will face demolition. While it is anticipated that Sipson, to the north of the airport, could be first to go, parts of Harmondsworth, Harlington, Brands Hill, Colnbrook, Poyle will be compensated, and it will be the penultimate nail in the coffin for Stanwell Moor. – The final nail happens when Heathrow is given the go ahead for the Third Runway!

How will expansion affect Stanwell Moor residents?

Outside of a further impact on our health and wellbeing, it will quite simply devastate our community and our quality of life. The village that has suffered so much for decades due to being directly under the Southern Runway the expansion will mean the village will be surrounded by Heathrow development projects.

STANWELL MOOR FUTURE FACTS!
More noise, new noise, more aircraft, thousands of new flights from the southern Runway. Traffic choas with thousands of HGV movements on our local roads, the redirection of the M25, a massive building site in the heart of our village, a 6-lane-elevated-motorway metres from our nearst homes, a reed-bed facility to deal with contaminated run-off water from the airport will be built in our village, not to mention a 25,000 space, nine-story car park on the Stanwell Moor Road which will gridlock local roads.

STANWELL MOOR will quite simply become UNLIVABLE!

So we are asking for Heathrow to do the right thing NOW and set the ball in motion. Deliver the compensation and allow residents in Stanwell Moor who wish to move away NOW and similarly extend that offer to residents who might want to move away in the future!

PROPERTY PRICES:
Due to its position on Heathrow’s flight path, property prices are significantly lower than Surrey’s average of £629,125 (according to RightMove). Stanwell Moor village is a mix of detached, semi-detached, terraces and flats. The majority of semi-detached properties sold in Stanwell Moor during the last year sold for an average price of £453,600. Detached properties sold for an average of £576,625, Terraced properties fetching £431,250. Sales of flats in Stanwell Moor have an overall average sold price of £275,000 over the last year.

Overall, the historical sold prices for detached properties in Stanwell Moor over the last year were 13% up on the previous year and 15% down on the 2017 peak of £680,000.

DESPAIR:
That house prices will decrease even more and the village is FINISHED!

THE INSULATION SHAM:
There is no use in having more insulation if it means we will NOT be able to enjoy our gardens or socialise with friends and fmaily. We do NOT need double-glazing, when if Heathrow was serious about alleviating noise pollution they know what we actually need as a minimum “TRIPLE-GLAZING” given the noise we currently experience without factoring in the amount of additional aircraft and “NEW NOISE” we will experience.

ACCEPTANCE:
Our residents have long-since accepted that at some point the village would become either a new terminal, or a logistics warehouse area. However the one thing we do know is as soon as the expansion is approved, Stanwell Moor will become a BUILDING SITE that will be operational 24/7, 365 days a year, lasting for the next 30-YEARS.

The irony is residents of Stanwell Moor understand that Heathrow Airport for the sake of the UK economy must expand, but not at any cost. The Airport must now grant us the world-beating compensation that it has afforded much less blighted areas.

Doubly irony is that our small village is (divided) as half of Spout Lane which is Hillingdon Borough and residents there are therefore already protected and will be compensated while the rest of the villagecomes under Spelthorne Council and at this stage is NOT.

WIDER PROPERTY OFFER ZONE (WPOZ)
The compensation of being included within the WPOZ, or an agreement that residents will be able to sell their homes to Heathrow and move away from the area and for those who stay the assurance that they too at some point in the future can sell to Heathrow at a minimum of 25% over market value.

SECURITY:
More than ever our residents need the security that is being offered to other communities. Some who do not have anything near the airport blight that the most airport-blighted village suffers, some have never been affected by the airport at all.

The blight and the fight for compensation for every resident continues.
