I am shocked to find that members of the suspended association have decided to resign and I am even more shocked with the timing and the apparent disregard for our community.
This on the very day they were to hold an AGM and face questions from our residents. It is clear from residents who have contacted me what they think of this.
However it would seem they expect me to arrange a meeting with hours to go. This unfortunately is (impossible) and I would expect the previous committee to know this.
A new committee (not expecting this) nor having time to prepare correctly for it is likely to get off to a bad start and I’m not prepared to allow that to happen to our Village.
That said, we need to move on now. What’s Done is Done. – While this puts a spanner in the works, we now need to put plans in place to get off to our best start. To create a local association that runs well and in the best interests of our resident’s starts with everyone having similar aspirations, agreeing the priorities for Stanwell Moor and then presenting these to our residents.
I will not be drawn into this tawdry attempt, it is totally underhand. It is unfair, it’s reckless and it is unprofessional!
Like every one of you reading this, I expected to go along to the Village Hall, to ask some of those questions, stand as Chair and vote in a new committee.
We cant do this now and we need to (cancel this meeting) as we now need to investigate a whole raft of things, including finding out who would be interested in working as part of the New Committee to deliver what our community deserves. We need to create a new constitution, websites to keep us informed (which they could have handed over).
More than this we need an agenda for any meeting, without an agenda a meeting falls apart pretty quickly. – These are not things you can simply do on the fly!
To reassure everyone in the meantime, With your permission I will assume Chair at this time to allow me to continue to negotiate on your behalf with Heathrow Airport, with Councils, with Government and other stakeholders. I will arrange a new-meeting next month. I will create, organise or reorganise websites and the SMRA facebook pages for the village.
I apologise to everyone but this is not of my doing. I have been deleted (again) from the SMRA whatsapp group and blocked from replying, I guess everyone has. – So there was no way I could react.
This again is petty, what does that achieve except uncertainty? – All they had to do was turn over admin to me to allow it to continue for everyone who was on it. I will wait 24-hours to see if this happens and if not I will create a new SMRA whatsapp group for the village.
I will let people know via the three facebook pages I am ADMIN and can I ask you all PLEASE try to let residents who may not be on social media that the meeting is cancelled.
