Dear All,

A concerned resident came to my door today to alert me that a company were taking sound readings when aircraft were taking-off from the Northern runway and when they asked the operative what was happening he was very evasive.

So I then had cause to visit an address on Hithermoor Road.

When I asked the person carrying out the sound readings they were again evasive, they said they could not wait or answer questions and – I should call the number on the board.

When I explained to the home-owner that I was trying to find out more on behalf of our residents as acting Chair of the SMRA, he replied:

The Residents Association is DEAD!”

I was shocked tohear that as I have continued single-handedly as acting Chairman of the SMRA over the last year and have solved many local issues for our residents.
I informed him that the residents association was very much alive, and I had been working on the residents since the previous committee resigned. I also informed him that a full SMRA committee will be reformed soon.

His reply to that was – Bollocks!

With that I said I would not have this conversation with him and he replied similar.
However when I returned home, – I immediately got in touch with Heathrow to express my concerns about what is going on, and I have been promised the best person to talk to will contact me asap.

I expect to hear back from HAL, from DEFRA or a Director of Anderson Acoustics Ltd soon and as always, I will update you.

PS: – I am pleased to announce I will be calling a meeting to form a new Residents Association committee soon and that well-known, long-standing residents have offered to help and take up committee positions.
