3RD DECEMBER 2025
Dear All,
Most of you will know that as acting SMRA Chairman since March I’ve been negotiating with Heathrow Directors on a campaign to have all homes in Stanwell Moor included in the QNS/RIS and things are at a critical stage for the Excluded 10%.
However some residents may not be aware of this, so this is by way of an update.
On the 7th July at our meeting in the Compass Centre we expanded things to include residents on the Moor who were unhappy with the work being carried out by KIER and that has continued.
I put it to Heathrow Directors that:
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
- RESIDENT INSULATION SCHEME WORK THAT IS UNDERWAY
- The whole insulation scheme you have awarded to KIER is shambolic.
- The work of the some of the sub-contractors is sub-standard and the village is up in arms.
- I hear multiple complaints from residents regarding people being harassed by KIER for start dates.
- Then delays when they do, fitting teams then not turning up.
- Scaffolding on homes for months and damage to properties.
- Issues on lintels, and asbestos that was never a problem before!
With the biggest issue was people were being told KIER would NOT carry out soffit removal and residents were potentially facing large bills per property!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Therefore I’m delighted to announce as reported in November on the SMRA website that Heathrow has agreed ACM’s directly affecting the delivery of QNS-related works will now be included within the programme.
This means where Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) removal is necessary to implement QNS measures, these costs will be fully covered.
This is fantastic news for everyone who faced having to potentially fund a £15,000 bill before their works could start. It is a “BIG WIN” for residents who are included in the scheme, and the fight continues for our excluded neighbours.
I would ask that you don’t need to inundate HALs email at this time and give me some more time to find if there are any other conditions as nothing will start until the New Year and we have already secured an extension for works and registrations .
A great Pre-Christmas present: – I just hope I can now close out the same for our friends and neighbours who are currently excluded.
I will of course bring you more details as I have them.
Best regards,
Jim.
